History & Mission

To know where we’re going, we must know where we’ve been. As the latest addition to the Hooverwood community, our history begins with theirs. Originally established as the Jewish Shelter House in 1902, later the Borinstein Home in 1929, and finally Hooverwood in 1970, it has offered care and services to the elderly in the community for more than a century—employing much of its current staff for over 20 years.

It has truly earned its place as a respected skilled nursing facility and we are proud to carry on that legacy into our assisted living offerings at Kraft Commons.
